Happy At Last Dear Sirs, As a Ranger fan I have never had much to write about, but now with our high flying start I think I finally can explain, complain and exalt. To Explain: When the Guelph Biltmores won the Memorial Cup they were the best crop of amateurs in Canada, but they had to be rushed up to the NHL. All their experience was taught and learned in the big time, but they did improve. It was only a matter of time. The time is now. They have the experience now and still have not reached their best yet. I think if the experts had studied this team they never would have picked them last, but pushed them up a couple of notches. U.S. To Ice Strong Entry For Olympics
DETROIT, Mich.— The next U.S. Olympic hockey team will be the most carefully selected, most thoroughly trained and probably the most talented outfit ever to represent this country in any international competition. These facts emerged from a press luncheon held recently in Detroit. At that time the team drew unexpected warm praise from a man whose primary field is pro hockey—Jack Adams. “This is the year for the U.S.,” predicted Adams, general manager of the Detroit Red Wings. He had just heard details of how the U.S. team is being picked and, more important, he has studied the probable roster. “I think this team could go all the way,” he said.
