Trois Rivieres New Entry In Quebec League

MONTREAL, Que.— With a slightly changed facade the Quebec Hockey League will be open for business again on October 9, operating with five clubs., in a schedule of 62 games. A brand new team with fresh money put up by an ardent group in the City of Trois Rivieres, Que., will replace the Valleyfield Braves, who are suspending operations for one season. Professional hockey under full scale operation comes to the town at the jnuction of the St. Maurice and St. Lawrence Rivers, for the first time, replacing the Trois Rivieres Reds of the defunct Quebec Junior League. Edmonton Flyers Reclaim Defenseman Hugh Coflin In Deal With AHL Bears

EDMONTON, Alta.— Edmonton Flyers solved their defence problems with a three-player manoeuvre that reclaimed the drafted Hughie Coflin from Hershey Bears of the American League. Coflin had been drafted a few months ago from the Flyers from $7,500. That sum has been returned to Hershey, who in turn acquired defenceman Larry Zeidel and centreman Jimmy Uniac in cash deals. Tus Coflin remains in Edmonton where he has gone into the ice cream drive-in business, and Hershey gets a defenceman the Bears badly wanted. However, it is believed that this may be just a roundabout way of Zeidel going up to Boston Bruins.
