Arnott Whitney Gets His Lessons From The Coach
HERSHEY—Now in his second campaign as a professional, Arnott Whitney is one of the American Hockey League’s most consistent blue liners. The Hershey defenseman, who recently turned 23, demonstrated his durability as an AHL freshman last season when he appeared in all 70 regular season tilts, plus eleven play-off engagements. And, while he packs 180 pounds on his solid six-foot frame, and is thus physically capable of handing out body checks and holding his own in rugged play, he is not given to rough stuff. Paired with coach Murray Henderson, Whitney has patterned his style of play after his boss. As a result, he has become one of the best poke checkers in the loop.
