CHICAGO, Ill.— “Hustle ! hustle ! ! hustle ! ! ! is the decree carried on a blackboard in the Black Hawks dressing room. While it is an urging that previously drew rather inconsistent response, Coach Frank Eddolls’ crew came through with a sparkling skating display while playing host to Detroit November 21. As it’s been proven too many times before, however, outdoing an opponent in virtually every sense doesn’t assure a victory and this was the unfortunate ease that night. Henderson’s Streak Stopped By NY

BOSTON, Mass.— The amazing goal-tending streak of the Bruins’ Long John Henderson finally came to an end in New York, on the evening of November 24. Henderson ran his scoreless streak to 180 minutes 50 seconds—the equivalent of more than three full games—before New York’s Walter Hergesheimer finally broke it at 13:35 of the first period of a game won by the Rangers, 3 to 1. Henderson, the six-foot 3½-inch rookie called up by the Bruins a week earlier from Hershey of the American League, emerged from his first game—also in New York—with a 2 to 2 tie. A night later the Bruins beat the Black Hawks in Chicago, 5 to 1, and Jack McIntyre’s goal at 12:45 of the first period in that game was the last made against Long John until Hergesheimer’s…

FREDERICTON, N.B.— Fans all around the Atlantic Coast Senior Hockey circuit were glad to see Amherst’s (Buck) Rogers back in herst’s Don (Buck). Rogers back in uniform after a recent injury to his leg resulting from a check…Colorful Nick Pidsodny, who tends the twines for the Moncton Hawks was the first goalie in the ACSHL to nail down a shutout when he blanked Joe McIntosh’s Fredericton Caps…Nick was on the other end a few nights later however when Charlottetown’s Jim Shirley administered a large dose of whitewash to Dugger McNeil’s Moncton entry…Joltin’ Joe Lepine who pastimed last season with Halifax.
