Two of the most controversial figures in hockey are seen in the above shot as they prepare to take the ice. Maurice ‘Rocket’ Richard, the idol of every hockey fan in Montreal, is seen on the right and on the left is big Jean Beliveau, who may eventually take up where the Rocket leaves off as the number one man among Canada’s French Canadian sports fans. Recently Beliveau, better known in Quebec as Gros Bill, came up to the Montreal Canadiens on a three game lend-lease deal from the Quebec Aces of the Quebec Senior Hockey League. To say that he looked as if he might make the grade would be the understatement of the year for the 6’3”, 210 pound youngster scored five goals in those three games. If…

Bentleys and Mosienko Best of Farm Products

CHICAGO, III.—Doug and Max Bentley and Billy Mosienko are probably the greatest farm products of the Chicago Back Hawks. The famed brother combination, now just a memory to fans, came out of Delisle, Sask, a dozen years ago while “Mosie” is from Winnipeg, Man. Billy is the only one of the three still with the Chihawks He’s now in his 11th season. Max Bentley was traded to Toronto, with whom he still stars, in 19 47. Doug retired from the Hawks and the National league early last season. He now is player-coach with Saskatoon in the Western circuit.…
