But the thrilling fight of the Mills to stay alive maintained interest in the Maritime Major (Big Six) Hockey League right to the wire. Going into the final week of the record-breaking 90-game schedule, three places in the four-team playoff scheme had been definitely settled. Saskatoon-Edmonton If you can go on season records, these clubs appear to be very evenly matched with the Quakers holding a one game edge. These teams played 20 games against one another this season, the Quakers winning 8, Edmonton 7 and five ended in a tie. Saskatoon outscored the Flyers by a narrow margin 73 goals to 64. Tacoma-Seattle Tacoma has the best record of any of the clubs over their first opponent. The Rockets won 10 lost six and tied 2 of the 18 games played between themselves and the Ironmen.
