Takes Over QSHL Scoring Parade, From Valleyfield’s Corriveau, for First Time MONTREAL, Que.— The resurgence of the rollicking Royals who roared to five straight victories along with the ascendancy of Les Douglas in the scoring picture are the two predominant factors in the Quebec Senior Hockey League during the past week. Hovering in the vicinity of fifth place only a week ago when they were unceremoniously cuffed around twice by Sherbrooke Saints, the Carlin Clippers have come along with another of their roaring drives. Bear’s Loss of 3 Rooks Upsets Sizzling Pace
HERSHEY, Pa.— Johnny Crawford’s Hershey Bears, shaken to their foundation by the loss of three prize rookies, Real Chevrefils, Leo Labine and Jim Morrison, were slowly rebounding at the AHL’s 40-game mark from the shock of losing three vital cogs in Hershey’s well-oiled skating machine. Chevrefils, second highest scorer in the league, and Labine, his line mate, were recalled by the Boston Bruins to bolster their sagging fortunes, while Morrison was sent to Pittsburgh in a deal whereby the Bruins acquired winger Fleming Mackell from the Toronto Leafs. The Bruins replaced Chevrefils and Labine with Adam Brown, 10-year National League veteran, and Lorne Ferguson, 22-year-old forward, but-the Bears were put on the spot by the unexpected loss of Morrison.
