BOSTON, Mass.— The inconsistencies of the Boston Bruins may make the lower part of the National League standings interesting reading, but they’re not helping the blood pressure of their fans. The Bruins can be very, very good or awfully, awfully bad, as far as results are concerned but the strain is wearing down their loyal followers. They got off to an excellent start this season, performing the laudable feat of winning four straight games on the road at one stretch, but then they became inconsistent. From not being able to lose for winning, they suddenly turned in the other direction. For game after game, until the exact number required special tabulation, they couldn’t win for losing—or tieing. Bill Chose Frank Boucher To Center Line With Cooks

NEW YORK — It was at a Rangers’ training camp back in the fall of 1926 that Bill Cook I made a decision that probably gavesthe hockey world one of its greatest lines of all times. Bill and Bun Cook had been signed to play for the Rangers, but they needed a good center man to make up another line. The decision to find the man was left to Bill. “There’s only one center in the business as far ss I’m concerned and that’s Frank Boucher. Get him and we’ll have one of the best lines in the League,” Bill 1 told the Rangers’ bosses.
