PCHL Players Should Be Seasoned Travellers !
SEATTLE, Wash.— There is a very prominent and profusely illustrated sign known to most of this country’s and the Dominion’s young and middle-aged men. The sign says: “I want you. Join the Armed Services and see the world.” Well, this same slogan, only on a smaller scale, could very well be used by the enlarged, expanding and progressive Pacific Coast Hockey League. The addition of Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatoon this season to the Pacific Coast hockey stronghold of New Westminster, Vancouver and Victoria in B.C. and Seattle and Tacoma in Washington, makes the G. A. (Al) Leader preslded-over circuit the most expansive in professional and amateur hockey today. The distance from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to Victoria, B.C. is 1191 miles… It Is approximately another 60 miles to Seattle and 32 more miles to Tacoma.…

Rollins Was Unimpressive In Training
Truthfully Rollins didn’t look razorlike in his early activities at the Leaf training camp. And in the first exhibition game against the Buffalo Bisons he mishandled the only two shots that came his way in the second period. This, however, Is probably no cause for Immediate alarm. Rollins will likely pick up the thread, probably even before the season starts and even In the event that he doesn’t, the Leafs still have Walter Broda under contract, a lad who has demonstrated his ability for thirteen seasons in the Toronto nets. The right wing spot, too, can likely be filled comfortably, most likely by Fleming Mackell a lad who chief scout Bob Davison has observed seems to be skating better this year than he ever has before, a truth which Flem himself maintains…
Boucher Calls ’39-40 Rangers Best
GUELPH, Ont. — The best team ever to wear the colors of the New York Rangers in the opinion of Manager Frank Boucher was the 1939-40 team which captured the Stanley Cup. Rangers finished the regular schedule in second place that season, three points behind Boston Bruins, the league winners. But Rangers ousted Boston in a best-of-seven games, four games to two. In the Stanley Cup final Rangers met Toronto Maple Leafs who had finished the season in third place and then eliminated Chicago and Detroit earlier in the playoff rounds. Rangers continued on to whip the Leafs in a memorable series. The Blueshirts won the first two games in New York but Leafs squared the series with two wins at home. The next two games were also played in Toronto but Rangers won…
