Reigle Gains Votes As All-Star, Gets A Henry Vote Any Time

HERSHEY, Pa One of the main cogs in the Hershey Bears’ march to a berth in the American Hockey League’s Calder Cup playoffs has been Edmund Reigle, stellar defenseman, who came down to the Chocolate Town club when the Boston Bruins recalled Ross Lowe shortly after the season got under way. The season was scarcely three weeks old when Reigle stepped into Hershey livery and he soon made his presence felt. His defensive play, particularly in front of the Bear nets, was especially noticeable right from the start. Then, as the season progressed, Ed began taking his place in Hershey’s offensive play. He soon developed a hard shot, second only to Joe Schertzl’s bullet like drives from 3 0 and 40 feet out, and while his individual scoring record shows only three goals…

DETROIT, Mich— Barring a last-hour slump which by now appears highly improbable, the Detroit Red Wings will be the 1950-51 winners of the National Hockey League title, and the Toronto Maple Leafs the runnersup. In the tight race both clubs compiled the best won-lost record in their histories. They made it a two-team battle almost from start to finish.
