Two Minors Clint Albright, the bespectacled St. Paul left winger, had not drawn a penalty until the game in Omaha on December 16th when he visited the sin bin twice. He is a former National leaguer with New York Hangers. Three Zeros Three shutouts were marked up last week. Lou Crowdie of Denver started it when he blanked the St. Paul Saints 3-0 in St. Paul. Then Al Millar (who is replacing: Jack McGill in the Kansas City nets) wielded the calsomine brush against Milwaukee, and Lome Worsley closed it off with a 4-0 job against Kansas City. Player-Of-The-Week
When Nick Mickoski scored four goals and added an assist when the Rangers whipped the Hawks 6-1 in New York on Christmas Eve, it constituted the first time this season that a player scored more than two goals in a game. For his terrific scoring effort THE HOCKEY NEWS choses Mickoski as Player of the Week and ‘Schaefer Award’ winner. The Christmas weekend games were not included in our choice last week. Mickoski’s three consecutive goals in the second period of the game was the first authentic hat trick of the season, in fact it was the first hat trick, authentic or otherwise.
