LES CANADIENS Deal Sir, I am in favor of overtime. There are too many tie games in the N.H.L. this year. Another complaint I have is the way other players try to maim Maurice Richard, who is undoubtedly the greatest player of all time, including the great Howie Morenz. I would like to see ‘Lea Canadiens’ return to what they were intended to be—a French-Canadian team. J. Clermont Lavertu. Hardwick, Vt. Former Bruins Put Lots Of Pep In Pittsburgh Drive To Title
PITTSBURGH, Pa.— The Pittsburgh Hornets may not have been very frightening to other clubs in the Western Division of the American Hockey League last year, but the word’s out this season—those Wasps are carrying a real sting. Player-Of-The-Week
When Nick Mickoski scored four goals and added an assist when the Rangers whipped the Hawks 6-1 in New York on Christmas Eve, it constituted the first time this season that a player scored more than two goals in a game. For his terrific scoring effort THE HOCKEY NEWS choses Mickoski as Player of the Week and ‘Schaefer Award’ winner. The Christmas weekend games were not included in our choice last week. Mickoski’s three consecutive goals in the second period of the game was the first authentic hat trick of the season, in fact it was the first hat trick, authentic or otherwise. So far this season Mickoski has scored 10 goals and added lour assists for a total of 14 [Klints. Last season in 70 games he was able to score…
