Gariepy Tries To Rough Up Bisons As Proof Of Mistake
BUFFALO, N.Y— The triangular trade which found Hershey gaining the services of Defenseman Ray Gariepy and Buffalo securing rear-line Roily McLenahan must be classified as the oddest of the current American Hockey League season for two reasons. First, Montreal—the third team in the dealing—ended up being nothing more than the middleman. The Canadiens originally purchased Gariepy from Buffalo. Then they turned around and traded him to Hershey for McLenahan, who in turn was optioned to Buffalo. The transactions followed one another so closely that neither Gariepy nor McLenahan got a chance to play in a regular National League game. The second reason that the trade stands in a class by itself is that it touched off the hottest feud of the past several years in the AHL. Gariepy, determined to show his former Buffalo bosses…

Mosie Chosen For Two Second All-Star Teams
MONTREAL, Que.— In three of the four National Hockey League All-Star games that have been played to date Billy Mosienko has seen action. In his first game he broke his ankle and was sidelined from play for a major part of the season. That was in 1947. He missed the second game but was in action in the third and fourth games. In his career he has failed to make a first team in the official All-Star choices as picked by the coaches but twite he has found a place on the second teams. In 1944-45 he was chosen for the right wing spot and the following season, 1945-46, he was chosen for that position again. The first time he was-picked on a forward line with Syd Howe and Bill Cowley. The second…

Player-Of-The-Week Red Kelly
The steadiest defenseman in the National Hockey League is what young Red Kelly of the Wings is called around the loop. But if you look deeper into his records you’ll find that he’s not only one of the best in the League but also the highest scorer of the Blueline fraternity. There is no need to inquire just why we chose — Kelly as the Player-Of-The-Week and ‘Schaefer Award’ winner. The Wings won two games last week and tied one and the Flame Thatched Kid from Simcoe, Ontario netted himself five assists. He now leads the rearguards in points with nine—two goals and seven assists. On November 8 at Boston, Red assisted on a pair of goals as the Wings and Bruins played to a 3-3 stalemate. Then in Toronto last Saturday…
