Habs Start Rebuilding, Buy and Trade for Three

MONTREAL, Que— The Montreal Canadiens completed three deals last week as the rebuilding program of the Habs got underway. The Canadiens grabbed Vern Kaiser from Springfield and sent Bus Gagnon and two amateurs to the Tribe in return, also a small amount of cash. Frank Seike also announced that the Habs have bought Paul Meger from the Buffalo Bisons for $15,000 and three unnamed players. However, under an agreement, Meger will return to the Bisons for one more season. Joins Tribe Moving further West, the Habs bought Huge Frank King from the Minneapolis Millers, a Cleveland farm club. Of the three deals there is little doubt that Meger is the one that will pay off in aces. Chosen as the Rookie of the Year in the A.H.L. this season, Meger was with the Canadiens in three…
