Baron Net Sweeps Far, Wide
CLEVELAND, O.— When a newcomer to the Cleveland Barons starts down the ice sheet, whips past the center zone, eludes the defense and works his way in for a clean shot at the net to turn on the red light, fans turn to each other and start buzzing, “Wonder where they got him?” More often than not, that particular boy who is slated for stardom is a product of teams that are affiliated with the Cleveland Barons and has been carefully brought along since he was in his late teens. Icy North In Torrid Mood As Miners Extend Soo To Limit

The excitement caused by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds vs Sudbury Miners semi-final and the North Bay Black Hawks vs Porcupine…
Pick Full House; 8 Named As Stars Of Int’ League
DETROIT, Mich— Eight players were named to the International Amateur League All Star team in a poll of the league’s five coaches. Ties for two positions (left wing and center) created the unusual situation of an eight man team selection. All clubs but Windsor were represented on the first squad. Sarnia, winners of the J. P. McGuire Trophy, topped the list, with four places. Chatham drew two spots, while Auto Club and Hettche, the two Detroit teams, each drew one position. Three of the selections, goalkeepers Fred Sparks of Auto Club, and defenseman Bud Dodds and right wing Ted Garvin of the Sarnia Sailors were unanimous. Al Plouffe, young Chatham rear guard drew the other defense position. Ties occured at center and left wing. At center, Dick Kowcinak, Sarnia playing-coach, and the league’s leading…
