Walter was in the dressing room purely and solely in the course of his duties as a reporter of hockey. At no time was Any subject discussed beyond the affairs of the…

YOUTH BRAVES ICY RIVER TO SAVE 74-YEAR-OLD-BOSS

1. Mr. Arthur Ross, 74, was directing the removal of the foundations of an old bridge at the mouth of the St. Maurice River. He was standing on an improvised dam when suddenly he lost his balance and fell into the water. 2. An 18-year-old employee, Pierre Roy, immediately took off his rubber boots and plunged into the river. Mr. Ross by this time had been carried 15 feet … disappeared beneath the surface … and re-appeared even further away. 3. The gallant young man finally reached his employer … grasped him firmly … then fought his way back against the icy current and the floating logs until he had him safely on the dam. We are proud to pay tribute to Pierre Roy through the presentation of The Dow Award. THE DOW…
