Record Breakers Sid Smith of Pittsburgh Hornets and Carl Liscombe of Providence Reds finished the season with 55 goals apiece, thus gaining dual possession of a new goals record for the A.H.L. Has No Equal Baz Bastien, goalie for Pittsburgh Hornets, made a clean sweep at his position. Bastien had the most shutouts, best goals-against average, and won a berth on the Official A.H.L. Pembroke’s Really Gone Hockey Mad; Fans Raise Cash To Broadcast Games
PEMBROKE, Ont.—You can’t complain of lack of interest in hockey among the fans of this Ottawa Valley town. Puck-wise citizens of the area have organized a fund to make sure they can hear broadcasts of the senior series between Pembroke Lumber Kings and Sydney Millionaires, the Maritime titlists. In a few hours, more than $1,000 had been thrown into the kitty, with more to come. SAN DIEGO, Calif.— It was learned by THE HOCKEY NEWS in an exclusive interview with Bert and Jim Forsyth, part owners of the San Diego Skyhawks (Pacific Coast Hockey League) and Glacier Gardens Ice Arena, that their 25% interest in the hockey team, the rink and all the shows which play there, was up for sale.
