Campbell Suspends, Fines Red Hamill For Lynn Injury

A rather unsavory incident took place this past week in the hockey world when Red Hamill, a gentlemanly hockey player who usually abides by the highest standards of sportsmanship was reported to have gone berserk in a vicious attack on Toronto’s Vic Lynn. The report, which reached THE HOCKEY NEWS just at press time, couldn’t be confirmed but it indicated that Lynn suffered a six-stich wound in his scalp and that there was a possibility of a skull fracture. This is, indeed exceptionally hard to understand in Hamill’s case when one consideres that “Rollicking Red” had only incurred three minor penalties during the entire season up to Sunday’s unfortunate incident. Player–Of–The–Week

Kenny Mosdell, who fired four goals, to lead his team to two important victories during the past week, has been named Player-Of-The-Week by THE HOCKEY NEWS and is also the winner of the Morgan Hat award. In a 3-0 pasting the Canadiens handed the Toronto Maple Leafs last Thursday, netted the first and third goals on breakaways while his team was a man short. Two nights later Mosdell scored another pair of markers when the Habs downed the lowly New York Rangers 3-1. Kenny scored the cond and third goals in this fray, one of them a breakaway when his team was a man short. Of the four goals Mosdell scored, three were on breakaways when his team was playing one man short. Mosdell’s last goal against the Rangers came when…
