DENIS FINED AFTER BRAWL

NEW YORK, N.Y.—As a result of a recent altercation in Springfield between the Springfield Indians and Nev Haven Ramblers, player Jean Paul Denis of New Haven was fined $50 and suspended for the next New Haven a Springfield game, League President Maurice Podoloff. announced. The trouble came in a contest in Springfield on February 12 when Denis and Indian player Gordon Tottle mixed in a fight. Tottle was given a five minute major penalty by referees Charles “Rabbit” McVeigh and Patsy Callighen, and Denis was banished from the game with a match penalty when he used his stick on Tottle.
