Irvin Looks Back To Tell Of His Biggest Puck Disappointment

MONTREAL, Que.- Coach Dick Irvin is astute in a good many ways. Apart from being an able hockey mentor, the silver-thatched Irvin can sense the making of a good story. And it was this consciousness of what sports scribes should pass along to their readers that prompted him recently to chide one of them with this remark: “How is it that you fellows are always asking us to tell you about our greatest thrill in hockey but none of you ever thinks of asking us about our biggest disappointment?” Well, that was a challenge that could hardly be allowed to drop. Kamloops, directed by Johnny Ursacki, heads the circuit. Laurel Harney, well known for many years in sport and last…

All beat a well-worn trail to the rubbing table of the chairman of the Ontario Association of Masseurs. Not only does that trail wind through practically every playing field and sports building in the Greater Toronto area, ailing players repeatedly sweep down on the Campbell liniment headquarters by the earload from Hamilton, St Catharines and Peterborough to mention only a few localities. Famous ballet dancers, too have Archie Campbell to thank for conditioning them for the…
