Frayne The Fearless Eyes Awarding Of Hart Trophy
TORONTO, Ont.— If I and the proof-reader can become friends again I will talk today about the Hart Trophy. The last time I had a message in this pillar of truth the proof-reader won a running battle to keep readers from getting past the first paragraph. Honest, Mr. Proof-Reader, it’s tough enough for the reader already. But to get on with the Hart Trophy. I see by the journals that it has been already awarded for this season to that dandy from Detroit, Ted Lindsay. It seems that during Mr. Lindsay’s five-game absence with an ankle injury the Detroit’s dropped three games and looked some-what ghastly in the other two, one of which was a 9 to 6 triumph over the Black Hawks. They have a nine point margin over the second place Tacoma outfit and also have the best goals against record. In the 27 games they have played so far, they have allowed opposition marksmen only 76 goals while scoring 115. In the Southern…
USHL Franchise Is Granted For Season 1949-50

The Board of Directors of the United States Hockey League, at the request of the Milwaukee Ice Sports Inc., unanimously voted to create a Reserve List for Milwaukee Ice Sports Inc., and it is expected that the Milwaukee team will compete in the United States League in the 1949-50 season. The Directors of the League, of course, request recognition by the National and American Leagues of this Reserve List, but there is little possibility that the senior leagues will reject this. Work has already started on the beautiful building in which the Milwaukee club will play their games,…
