Because of the vast distances separating the various cities, the Northern and Southern Divisions are more or less separate entities. Tudin Is Turned Back IN THE WEST CALGARY, Alta.— After being shutout in the first game—the same as in their series with Calgary; Edmonton Flyers went to work and gave Winnipeg Flyers the “treatment” in their best-of-seven playoff for the right to represent Western Canada in the Allan Cup final. Edmonton’s decisive victory against the Manitoba champions marks the third time in succession the winner of the Western Canada Senior Hockey League final has reached the Allan Cup final. Calgary who did it the two previous years, were successful the first time and extended Montreal Royals to seven games before bowing out last season. HOUSTON, Tex.— A team that won’t be beaten can’t be beaten is an adage that has been kicked around in the sports world since the first time two teams lined up against each other. Never before, however, has any team come back from certain defeat the way the Houston Huskies, led by Coach “Toe” Blake, did to defeat the Minneapolis Millers and win the Paul W. Loudon Trophy, emblematic of the playoff championship of the United States Hockey League.
