Fab Freshman Off to Fast Start
So much of college hockey is taking a raw recruit and refining him into a player who can compete for an NHL roster spot. For Boston University freshman Sahir Gill, that refining came right from the get-go. Gill, as well as four other highly touted freshmen, came to campus early in order to work out with BU strength guru Mike Boyle, who was featured in THN’s Genius Issue last season. And while it’s early, legendary Terriers coach Jack Parker is happy with Gill’s off-ice progress. “We knew he would be much better at that aspect,” Parker said. “Because he had never had to work at it before.” Gill himself listed off-ice prep and skating as two items he’d like to improve upon and Parker has already seen an improvement in the B.C.…
